Iran Air Aircraft

All the aircraft pictures on this page are in the old livery of 1960s and 1970s except the Airbuses.

In early 1980s the new Iran Air management changed the name of airline and the livery of all

company aircraft. The company long name was changed from "Iran National Airlines" to 

"The Airline of Islamic Republic of Iran" and the "Iran Air" fonts and aircraft

livery design were also altered.

This photo shows Iran Air first jet aircraft, a Boeing 727-86, EP-IRA, delivered on June 7, 1966,

named after Iran's historical city of "Esfahan". The aircraft was destroyed while taxiing at Tehran

Mehrabad airport on January 7, 1983. The picture was taken at London Heathrow on
